"Ranka shi dadia" is a portraiture capturing the regal essence of a young Northern Nigerian prince adorned in his complete royal regalia. The traditional attire of the Northern Nigerian royalty has maintained a consistent style dating back to the 18th century. The prince is draped in an elaborate, voluminous gown known as the "Babban Riga" or "GARE," worn over a khaftan. Atop his head rests a distinctive royal scarf called "Rawani" or a turban, skillfully arranged to partially veil his face, leaving only his eyes visible.
