Early Life and Inspiration

Addington Nyasoka was born in 1994 in Guruve, Zimbabwe, where he grew up surrounded by a vibrant community of artists. As a young boy, he was inspired by the creative achievements of Brighton Sango, a renowned artist from his village who had gained international recognition. Sango's success had brought hope to many aspiring artists in the village, and Addington was no exception. He began to explore his own artistic talents while still in school, laying the foundation for a future career in the arts.

Apprenticeship and Training

After completing high school in 2014, Addington moved to Harare to pursue his artistic ambitions. He joined the Tsindi Gallery in Hatfield, Harare, Zimbabwe where he worked as an artist-assistant and apprentice under the guidance of his brother, Thomas Nyasoka. During this period, he also had the opportunity to work with other established artists, including Godfrey Matungamidze and Bywell Sango. This hands-on training and mentorship helped Addington develop his skills and style, preparing him for a successful career in the art world.

He is particularly drawn to working with a range of stones, including fruit serpentine, springstone, cobalt, opal, and leopard rock.
