Artist Profile - Carshena Alcindor

I am Carshena Alcindor, the founder and designer behind CSD, specializing in crafting bespoke 3D art pieces.

My artistic journey began in my formative years, where art served as a crucial tool for navigating the challenges of childhood, particularly in dealing with mental health and depression. My deep-seated passion revolves around creating unique and visually captivating 3D artworks, with a focus on themes that celebrate black heritage. This is achieved through a blend of mixed media on canvas and intricately embroidered earrings.

Currently, I am actively involved in the establishment of a charitable organization dedicated to supporting underprivileged children in the Caribbean. Using my artistic talents, I strive to generate funds to make a positive impact on the lives of these young individuals—a mission inspired by the creative gifts I believe have been bestowed upon me by a higher power.

Looking towards the future, my aspirations extend beyond personal artistic growth. I aim to make meaningful contributions to the lives of disadvantaged children while continuously evolving as an artist.
