Fred Anchao - Kenya

Meet Fred Anchao Ong'esa, an exceptionally talented artist from Kenya, born in October 1981. Fred lives and works on the Kenyan Coast, where he creates beautiful arts and crafts out of soapstone, wood, beads, and leather. He makes home decorations and sculptures that are admired all over the world.

Fred's love for art started when he was just 12 years old. He learned from his family, who passed down their skills from generation to generation. With lots of practice and passion, Fred became a master at sculpting. Now, his artwork is famous and has been shown in art exhibitions across East Africa and even in other parts of the world!

Fred is always inspired by other artists and loves trying out new ideas. He often works with other talented people who help him with different parts of his art, like sandpapering soapstone, adding wax, and doing beadwork. Together, they create beautiful pieces that show off the rich culture of East Africa.

But Fred's ambitions go beyond just making art. He uses his talent to help his community. He provides employment for many artists. Arts of Africa provides him a platform to show the world the amazing creations from East Africa and to contribute to the education and well-being of the underprivileged children in his community

Come along on Fred's journey and see how art can change lives and communities for the better. See his amazing collection below.
