Despite the amazing aspects of the modern African continent, a lingering sense of control and bondage pervades its essence. It seems as though Africa is still ensnared by invisible chains, leaving me to ponder whether true freedom will ever embrace this vast land. Creating this statement piece stirred a multitude of emotions within me—anger, hatred, joy, love, and understanding, creating a tapestry of mixed sentiments. Employing a 3D mixed media approach, I utilized acrylic, gold leaf (representing the vast wealth with which Africa is endowed), plastic, and a secret material to construct this artwork, culminating in a resin finish.
