Eckel Says "I've titled this piece "CULTURAL INTERVENTION." Culture, defined as the shared way of life among people spanning from families to entire continents, serves as the focal point of my piece. It depicts interconnectedness among individuals, symbolized by nine faces—five on one side and four on the other. Each face reflects a distinct mood, conveying emotions ranging from happiness to fear, representing the diverse human experiences.
The joined hands signify a collective willingness to engage and unite, while the varying angles at which the faces gaze illustrate the freedom enjoyed by individuals. The black and white lips symbolize linguistic diversity, highlighting the readiness to communicate and share core values and identities across cultures. Despite their differences, the subjects share a common base, emphasizing the rootedness of all nations in a shared global community. The spaces between outstretched arms signify respectful boundaries and democratic cooperation, enabling free movement without causing harm to the other. The postures express diverse forms of expression, allowing for the free growth of individuality.
Ultimately, "CULTURAL INTERVENTION" advocates for cultural exchange and understanding as essential pillars of global harmony among people and nations."
